Pioneer Announces Expansion to Offer Local Landline Service

South Portland, ME – Pioneer Telephone a long time leader in long distance, toll free, and calling card services now offers local landline service. The long awaited announcement is the result of years of careful planning and customer demand. Pioneer activated its first local landline customer on July 22, 2010 in a test environment and soon afterward began offering local services to customers in the Fairpoint (former Verizon) areas of Maine.
Entry into the local service market allows Pioneer Telephone to offer bundled communication services to existing customers and attract new customers who may want an alternative to their existing carrier but have been reluctant to give up certain calling features or traditional landline reliability often lost after switching to cable or Internet based services. Customers can choose from a variety of plans from the very basic “no frills” to plans with multiple features and included long distance calling bundles.
At this time Pioneer offers local landline service only within the state of Maine, but intends to roll out services in 14 other states before the end of 2011. Also in 2011 customers will be able to order DSL, high speed internet from Pioneer Telephone.
